Taxes, what is all the fuss
There has been a lot of talk about taxes this legislative session. Much of it has been garnered by Governor Pillen’s desire to cut property taxes by as much as 40%. That push came with record property tax valuation hitting Nebraskans hard at the end of last year.

LB1390 Prohibit activities related to elections, provide penalties
While LB1390 is thought of as an election bill, NFFV sees it as a bill limiting free speech. The bill would require the Secretary of State to produce a report before each presidential election that could be broken into two parts.

It didn’t take long after the “Let Them Grow Act and the Preborn Child Protection Act” passed the last legislative hurdle and was signed into law by Gov Pillen for the attacks to start. In truth, the attacks started as soon as the bill(s) were introduced. Since becoming law, pro-choice groups started a ballot initiative petition drive and legislation has been introduced to repeal or weaken the law.
